NSW Social Media Summit
On 10 October, the NSW Government will be hosting a first-of-its-kind summit focused on exploring and addressing the impacts of social media.
As social media becomes more important in our daily lives, concerns about its impact, particularly on the mental health and social development of young people, are becoming more pronounced.
To address this, the Minns Labor Government is delivering on a summit that will bring together experts, policymakers, academics, young people, and members of the wider community to discuss the positive and negative impacts of social media on people’s lives, particularly children and young people, and how government can best support digital wellbeing.
The summit will help inform the design and delivery of a range of policies, programs and resources to address the challenges posed by social media.
Here's what NSW Premier Chris Minns and the NSW Labor Government will continue to deliver on to keep our young people safe:
If you have any thoughts or experiences you would like to share about the impact of social media on your life, or on the life of someone you know, please share it below. I am committed to representing my constituents at the summit to ensure that our community is heard.
