On 1 August 2024, I had the privilege of visiting the Pal Buddhist School in Canley Vale part of my Electorate of Cabramatta. It was a pleasure to tour the school and speak with the Founding Principle Mr Panha Pal. Mr Pal's journey of leaving a successful career to pursue a deeper meaning and purpose in life is truly remarkable. His discovery of the Buddha's teachings – the Dhamma – inspired his vision for Pal Buddhist School. Founded in 2013, Pal Buddhist School proudly holds the distinction of being the first and only Buddhist secular Primary and High school in NSW, serving students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Beyond advancing academic knowledge, the School is dedicated to nurturing next generation into compassionate leaders, guided by Buddhist philosophy. I also had the opportunity to congratulate Mr Pal on receiving this year's Community Building Partnership Grant. I would also like to extend my congratulation to Mr Pal as he embarks on his long-anticipated path to ordain as a monk next year. I wish him all the very best on this new path.
