On 12 August 2024, I had the pleasure of visiting Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School in Mt Pritchard. Originally opened in 1953 as St Peters Primary School and renamed in 1963, the school has a rich history. During my visit, I was delighted to commend Principal Ms. Michelle McKinnon and Assistant Principal Ms. Jodie Gioria for their successful application of the Community Building Partnership grant, which is dedicated to refurbishing the school's playground. I am informed that this will fund the installation of two Futsal courts and eight handball courts, all featuring synthetic grass. These modern facilities are already making a significant difference. I've heard that students are thoroughly enjoying the upgraded playground, which not only provides them with enjoyable recreational opportunities but also helps them stay active. This increased physical activity contributes positively to their overall well-being and enhances their concentration in class. I look forward to seeing the continued benefits of this project for the students and the broader school community.
