On 24 August 2025, I had the honour of attending the 38th memorial service of Viet Tan Pioneers. The service was solemnly held at the Vietnamese Community and Cultural Centre in Bonnyrigg by Viet Tan Sydney. Viet Tan, also known as the Vietnam Reform Party, is a political organisation whose mission is to advocate for democracy in Vietnam. The memorial service commemorated and honoured the pioneers of Viet Tan for their contributions in laying the foundation for the organisation's pro-democracy movement. It also paid tribute to the late President of Viet Tan, Mr Hoang Co Minh, recognising his legacy of lifelong dedication to the pursuit of a free and democratic Vietnam. The service was attended by leaders and members of Viet Tan Sydney, as well as representatives from the broader Vietnamese community. I extend my sincere thanks to Mr Chau Van Kham, representative of Viet Tan Sydney for the kind invitation.
