On 23 August 2025 I had the honour and privilege of representing the Premier of New South Wales at the fiftieth anniversary celebration of the Timorese Community in Australia. This significant milestone marks half a century of resilience, contribution and cultural richness that the Timorese community has brought to our State and nation. The celebration, hosted by the Timor Chinese Association of NSW, was a vibrant and heartfelt event that reflected the deep pride, strong community spirit and enduring heritage of the Timorese people. It was a joy to witness the traditional performances, share in the stories of migration and settlement, and join in commemorating the remarkable journey of this community over the past five decades. I thank Mr William Leong, Mr Paul Jong and the Timor Chinese Association of NSW for their kind invitation and warm hospitality. I also extend my congratulations to the organisers on delivering such a memorable and meaningful event.
