On 26th March 2024, I had the great honour of meeting the representatives of St. George Community Housing at the Bonnyrigg Renewal project in my electorate. This site was originally designed for 830 concentrated social housing properties and a small number of private dwellings. Once completed the whole project is now expected to include about 3,000 new homes, providing a mix of about 30 per cent social and 70 per cent private housing. The redevelopment endeavours to address the housing demand in my electorate by creating greater access to social housing for those in need. I extend my appreciation to the project representatives for the dedication that has been made to the project and I thank them for their insights. I also extend my appreciation to the NSW Treasurer the Hon Daniel Mookhey for his time and engagement with us at the project site. It was a great opportunity for us to hear from the representatives from St George Community Housing and to better understand the project, the relevant issues and hopefully to better serve our local area and community.
