On the 4 August 2024, I had the privilege of attending the 34th-Anniversary Commemoration of the passing of Professor Nguyen Ngoc Huy at the Vietnamese Community and Cultural Centre in Bonnyrigg. As a founding member of the Tan Dai Viet Party and a distinguished academic, political figure, poet, and author, Professor Nguyen Ngoc Huy was globally recognised for his remarkable work and dedication to building a democratic society under the rule of law for Vietnam. The event also featured the launch of Professor Stephen Young's book, Kissinger's Betrayal: How America Lost the Vietnam War. Professor Stephen Young, a former Assistant Dean at the Harvard Law School, and a very close confidant of Professor Nguyen Ngoc Huy, travelled from the US to join us on this special occasion. His presence greatly enriched the commemoration of Professor Nguyen Ngoc Huy's enduring legacy.
