I had the privilege of attending the monthly meeting of the NSW Vietnamese Elderly Friendship Association on the 3rd of November 2023. The NSW Vietnamese Elderly Friendship Association is a large Vietnamese Australian elderly association in NSW with thousands of local members. I recognise the enormous contribution of the Association to the senior community in my electorate over the past three decades. I commend the leadership team including President Mr Chung Duong and Vice President Mr Hanh Tieu, the advisory team and all the volunteers for their efforts, especially in providing the senior members of migrant and ethnic backgrounds with tailored programs such as English classes, or cultural programs to help these constituents with greater social integration as they call Australia home. I am grateful for the opportunity to actively participate in conversations with the Association's leaders and individual members about how we can work together to help elevate the quality of life and well-being for the senior constituents and their families in my electorate.
