After prevailing through dark years, Cabramatta is now known as a vibrant and lively cultural hub with a close-knit, resilient and harmonious community. This incredible development has been made possible by the contribution of Ms Cheryl Bosler, a dedicated place manager for Cabramatta from 2007 until 2023. Cheryl was responsible for major events and activities, including the Moon Festival and Lunar New Year festival, which attracted hundreds of thousands of people to recognise and celebrate the diversity of Asian culture within Cabramatta. By collaborating with the community, government and local bodies, Cheryl addressed community concerns and improved community safety, expanded parking capacity and improved liveability through the enhancement of public spaces for parents and children. Cheryl's engagement with the community has gained Cabramatta recognition as a cultural destination, attracting residents across Sydney and tourists beyond our nation. I thank Cheryl, the Cabramatta Place Office team and the events team for their passion and dedication to building Cabramatta into what it is today—a place locals love and visitors admire.
