Mrs Mehar Ahmad is a dedicated community leader and educator, currently serving as the President of Seena Incorporated, a not-for-profit organization and publisher of The Australasian Muslim Times [AMUST]. With a passion for community service, Mehar has made significant contributions to both education and social welfare. She was honoured with the Crescent Awards TLC Educator Award in 2022 for her outstanding contributions to the school community and was named the NSW Women of the Year (Cabramatta) in 2019. Mehar's community impact extends beyond education. She co-founded the Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair [MEFF] and served as President of the Islamic Foundation for Education & Welfare [IFEW]. Through Seena, she has provided exceptional leadership, creating an inclusive environment for people with disabilities, organizing events, and supporting refugees. Her dedication to education includes establishing weekend Islamic and Arabic/Urdu language schools, where she volunteered for over three decades as a teacher and principal. A prolific writer, photographer, and public speaker, Mehar has also travelled extensively, documenting her experiences in publications like AMUST. Her professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Teaching from the University of NSW and a Masters in Information Technology in Education from the University of Sydney.
