It is my privilege to recognise Mr Hanh Tieu, Vice President of NSW Vietnamese Elderly Friendship Associations(VEFA), for his outstanding service to the Vietnamese senior community in my electorate of Cabramatta. Mr Tieu is among the first generation of Vietnamese Australians who embarked on a courageous journey as boat people in search for refuge and freedom following the Fall of South Vietnam in 1975. Motivated by his passion for serving vulnerable members in the community, Mr Tieu has voluntarily joined VEFA as Vice President since 2014, placing a particularly strong focus on enhancing the health and well-being of VEFA members. Mr Tieu is regarded as the right-hand person of VEFA. Without him, VEFA's programs benefiting thousands of people would not have been possible. Mr Tieu's altruistic endeavours extend beyond VEFA, as he remains a revered volunteer within the wider Vietnamese community in my electorate. On behalf of the community, I thank Mr Tieu for his generosity and the dedicated efforts in enhancing the well-being and betterment of our community members.
