I would like to recognise Mr Bounma Saysanavongphet a respected elder within the Lao community. Arriving in Australia with his family in the late 1970s, Mr Saysanavongphet has since become a pillar of the community. As a lifelong member of the Lao Community Advancement Co-op [LCAC], Mr Saysanavongphet has worked tirelessly to support LCAC in delivering its service to both new and established Lao refugees. Moreover, Mr Saysanavongphet embodies the values of compassion, harmony, and unity, which are deeply cherished and upheld within the Lao culture. His unwavering dedication to fostering a united, cohesive, and harmonious community serves as an admirable example for younger generations of Lao Australians. Mr Saysanavongphet's hard work and lifelong dedication to uplifting the Lao community in Australia deserve our heartfelt recognition and gratitude. His impact is profound, and we are fortunate to have him as a guiding role model within the community.
