I had the privilege of attending the tenth anniversary lunch of 3000 Minds, organised by CNA Multicultural Services Inc. The event brought together community members, supporters and distinguished guests, including local Federal and State MPs, as well as special guest Professor Dominic Rowe, Head of Neurology at Macquarie University. The luncheon was a heartfelt occasion dedicated to honouring the lives of nearly 3,000 Australians currently living with motor neurone disease [MND]. Professor Rowe shared his insights into the latest research and advances in understanding MND, offering hope and inspiration to those affected by the condition. His words highlighted the importance of ongoing medical research, community awareness and compassionate care. The event also served as a remembrance for Mr Franco Baldi, the former editor ofAllora!, who sadly passed away earlier this year after his own battle with MND. His legacy and contributions to the community were warmly acknowledged, reminding everyone of the human stories behind the statistics.
