I was delighted to join the Lao community in celebrating Christmas on the 23rd of December 2023 organised by Lao Community Advancement Cooperative NSW [LCAC]. LCAC is a prominent community association and has played a key role in the Lao community since the settlement of the Lao refugees in the 70s. I commend the LCAC leaders and team for their selfless effort and commitment to providing support and assistance to Australian Lao communities over the years. I take this opportunity to thank LCAC for the tremendous help they have offered across many different areas, spanning from English language tuition, assistance with accessing public housing, health and childcare education to trauma, relationship and domestic violence counselling. I had a wonderful time with the LCAC leaders, including the current President Mr Bountham Vongsaya and the former President Mr Deth Sysengrath, and the Managing team and guests. We had meaningful discussions, fabulous Christmas entertainment and celebrations on the night. I extend my gratitude to the LCAC for their warm hospitality, and congratulate them on organising a very successful event.
