On 8 July 2024 I had the honour and privilege of attending the foundation stone laying ceremony in Kemps Creek. This significant event was conducted in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan and the Most Reverend Archbishop Anthony Fisher, OP, the Archbishop of Sydney. Their presence, along with the blessings bestowed upon the occasion, underscored the deep spiritual importance of the ceremony. The gathering also included many other religious leaders from around the world and our local community, all coming together to witness and celebrate this momentous occasion. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Syriac Catholic Church of Sydney for the kind invitation to this memorable event. Its hospitality and the meticulous organisation of the ceremony were greatly appreciated. The foundation stone laying marks the establishment of a new place of worship and community, and symbolises hope and continuity for the faithful. This event was a profound reminder of the strength and unity within our spiritual communities
