I congratulate my constituent, Mrs Thi Tuyet Mai Bui, on being named Cabramatta Local Woman of the Year 2025. Mrs Bui's inspiring journey began when she arrived in Sydney as a refugee from Vietnam in 1989. Despite the many challenges of resettlement, she drew strength from her artistic talents and has used them to help others. Mrs Bui volunteers with numerous organisations, including the Asian Women At Work, the Vietnamese Women's Association in NSW and the Vietnamese Community in Australia, NSW Chapter. She conducts painting, pottery and art classes for those organisations. Her work, particularly in teaching children with disabilities through NDIS programs, truly deserves recognition, as we know that art is a powerful tool for learning, self-expression and building confidence. Her beautiful sculptures have been showcased in exhibitions such as Casula Powerhouse. It is great to see that Mrs Bui's wonderful work has been honoured in such a meaningful way. I extend my warmest congratulations to her on this well-deserved recognition.
