I recognised the Fire and Rescue NSW Station 049 Cabramatta. I was delighted to join superintendent Andrew Shurety, Cabramatta station officer Ryan Timeus and the rest of the Cabramatta Fire and Rescue team at Cabramatta fire station on Tuesday 24 July 2023. The visit began with a tour of the outstanding station facilities, followed by a comprehensive demonstration of all the gadgets and tools that the fire department uses to save lives. The visit resumed with an explanation about the importance of removing all dirt and grime after a rescue to prevent inhalation of cancerous substances. Finally, the visit ended with a nice afternoon tea. I was told that the team spent the morning baking the wonderful treats that I was presented with. I thank Cabramatta Fire and Rescue for everything they do for the people of Cabramatta. We are very fortunate to have their team serving our community, and we consider them all to be heroes of our community.
