On the 19th of December 2023, I had the privilege of attending the "Topping Out" Ceremony hosted by the Cabra-Vale Diggers Club. The ceremony marks a significant milestone of the Cabra-Vale Digger Club's Masterplan, which is to turn the Club into a 4.5 star hotel and entertainment complex. The masterplan is a $117 million multi-stage redevelopment project. The topping out ceremony is an age-old tradition that signifies the completion of the structural phase of a construction project. It can be traced back to the ancient Scandinavian religious rite of placing a tree atop a new building to appease the tree-dwelling spirits displaced in its construction. The evergreen of the tree is believed to bring good fortune, good luck to future inhabitants, continued growth and safe jobs. I extend my heartiest congratulations to the President Mr Walter Robinson, the Vice President Mr Ronnie Moore, all the Directors, the General Manager Mr Michael Foulkes and the Management Team, the Construction Team and everyone involved in reaching this remarkable milestone. I look forward to the Grand Opening Day.
