Born in Giresun, Turkey, in 1960, Bahtisen Gunacti migrated to Australia and lived in Cabramatta until 2002. He then purchased a property in Auburn, where he still resides. Despite relocating from the local area, Bahtisen's commitment to the mosque has remained unwavering. Since its inception, Bahtisen has been actively involved with the Bonnyrigg Turkish Islamic Cultural Association, assuming various roles, including vice president for the past 15 years. His connection with the mosque dates back to its construction in 1992, during which he became an integral member of the congregation. As a founding committee member, Bahtisen played a crucial role in numerous aspects of the Mosque's development. He oversaw the construction of the Mosque and the Imam's residence, contributed to the establishment of classrooms and meeting rooms, ensured regular maintenance, actively fundraised for essential projects, maintained close ties with the local community and served as a role model within the community. Bahtisen's enduring dedication has helped foster a strong sense of unity and belonging within the mosque community. His leadership and service have left an indelible mark, contributing to the mosque's growth and the enrichment of the community it serves.
