On 2 June I had the honour of attending a fundraising dinner for the AusViet Charity Foundation mission. This outstanding event raised crucial funds for the mission, which plans to conduct medical treatment, dental care and eye surgeries for disadvantaged individuals in the Ben Tre province in Vietnam. A dedicated team of Australian doctors, dentists, pharmacists and allied health professionals will collaborate with volunteers to conduct over 2,000 medical assessments and treatments in September of this year. In addition, the AusViet Charity Foundation has pledged to donate 300 food parcels to families and provide 1,000 school gift packs for school children in the province. I commend Dr Phuoc Vo OAM, Chairman of the AusViet Charity Foundation, the organising committee and all the volunteers involved in coordinating this worthy cause.
