Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the Assyrian New Year 6775 Akitu celebration, alongside the Assyrian Democratic Movement's [ADM] 46th Anniversary Celebration. It was an incredibly meaningful event, bringing together the Assyrian community to celebrate their rich cultural heritage and their ongoing commitment to democratic values. The celebration of Akitu, an ancient tradition marking the Assyrian New Year, was a beautiful reminder of the community's resilience and connection to its roots. The event also marked a significant milestone for the Assyrian Democratic Movement, celebrating 46 years of advocacy, community leadership, and dedication to Assyrian rights. It was inspiring to hear about the progress the ADM has made and their ongoing efforts to support Assyrian people both locally and abroad. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Immanuel Sada, President of the ADM (Zowaa Incorporated) Sydney, Australia, for the kind invitation to attend this special occasion. His leadership and the ADM's work in fostering a strong, united community were evident throughout the event. It was a privilege to join in the festivities and to recognize the contributions of the Assyrian people, both past and present.
