On 4 August 2024, I had the honour of attending the Commemoration of the Assyrian Martyrs Day at the Memorial in Edensor Park. This solemn event was a reminder of the sacrifices made by the Assyrian, Armenian, and Greek people during World War I. The commemoration offered a moment for reflection and respect, as we remembered those who lost their lives during this tragic period. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Hermiz Shahen, President of the Assyrian National Council - Australia, The Young Assyrians, and all the members of the organizing committee. Their dedication to organizing this significant event is deeply appreciated. The ceremony was a moving tribute to the resilience and enduring spirit of these people, ensuring that their stories and sacrifices are remembered with the respect they deserve. During the commemoration, I prayed for the souls of those who died and honouring their memory. The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving history and acknowledging the strength of the communities that have endured adversities.
