On 30 January 2025, I had the pleasure of joining my Parliamentary colleagues, friends, and the local community to attend the 2025 Assyrian Business Awards, organized by the Assyrian National Council of Australia. It was a truly special and unique event, celebrating the remarkable achievements and contributions of Assyrian businesses across the country. The evening was filled with inspiring stories of hard work, resilience, and success, highlighting the incredible impact these businesses have had on the broader community. It was a fantastic opportunity to witness firsthand the talent, passion, and dedication of the Assyrian business community. The event also provided a platform to honour the incredible cultural and entrepreneurial spirit that continues to thrive, and it was an honour to be part of such an important celebration. The awards were a wonderful reminder of the power of community and the importance of supporting local businesses, and I left the event feeling both proud and inspired by all the incredible individuals who contribute so much to our society.
