On the 8 August 2025, I attended the 37th Serbian Folkloric Festival, held at the Bonnyrigg Sports Club. This vibrant and culturally rich event brought together members of the Serbian community and many others from across the region to celebrate tradition, heritage, and community spirit. The festival was filled with lively performances, traditional music, colourful costumes, and folk dancing that beautifully showcased Serbian culture. I was pleased to join my local Parliamentary colleagues in welcoming the Hon. Steve Kamper, Minister for Multiculturalism, to both the celebration and our local area. His presence highlighted the importance of cultural diversity and the strong contributions of the Serbian community to our multicultural society. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen community ties and support the ongoing efforts to preserve and promote cultural heritage among younger generations. Events like these not only celebrate culture but also reinforce the unity and inclusiveness that define our region. I extend my congratulations to the organizers, volunteers, and performers for putting together such a memorable and meaningful event. I look forward to attending this festival and others like these in the years to come.
