On 4th April 2024, I was honoured to participate in the inaugural Iftar Community Dinner held at Canley Vale High School. The event brought together students, staff, and community members in a display of unity and solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan. I was delighted to see Ms. Effie Niarchos, the Principal of Canley Vale High School, and Ms. Lisa Porter, the Director of Fairfield area, at the school. Their commitment to fostering inclusivity and understanding within the school community is truly commendable, and their support added to the significance of the occasion. I extend my gratitude to Ms. Rana Abedine, the Community Liaison Officer, for her tireless efforts in organizing this meaningful event. It was evident that her dedication and hard work contributed to the success of the evening, which provided an opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds to come together. The Iftar Community Dinner holds profound significance symbolizing the values of compassion, empathy, and respect that are central to the spirit of Ramadan. It was a privilege to be part of such a meaningful gathering and to witness the strength of our community.
