The 8th April 2024, marked a truly special occasion as I had the privilege of participating in the Community Iftar Dinner hosted at the Bonnyrigg Mosque. This gathering exemplified the essence of community spirit and inclusivity, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to share in the spirit of Ramadan. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Executive team and Mr Adem Cetinay, the Public Officer of the Bonnyrigg Turkish Islamic Cultural Association, for extending their generous invitation. Their dedication to fostering harmony and understanding among different communities is truly commendable, and it was an honour to be a part of such a meaningful event. As we shared in the traditional Iftar meal, the warmth and fellowship among attendees were evident. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of unity and commonality, transcending cultural and religious differences. Events like the Community Iftar Dinner serve as powerful reminders of the importance of coming together in times of celebration and reflection. They offer a glimpse into the richness of our cultural tapestry that unite us as members of the broader community. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to partake in this memorable evening.
