On 2nd March 2024, I was privileged to represent the Honourable Chris Minns Premier of NSW at the 2024 Lunar New Year "Year of the Dragon" Buddhist Blessing Ceremony, held at Freedom Plaza in Cabramatta. It was an honour to be at this significant event, steeped in cultural tradition and spiritual reverence. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Association of Greater Western Sydney for extending this gracious invitation, allowing me to partake in this meaningful ceremony that holds deep significance for our community. Among the distinguished guests in attendance were our Federal and State MPs including: Hon Jason Clare, Hon Chris Bowen, Ms Anne Stanley, Hon Anoulack Chanthivong, Mr Hugh McDermott, Mr Nathan Hagarty, Ms Charishma Kaliyanda and Mr David Saliba. As we gathered to receive blessings for prosperity, good fortune, and harmony in the year ahead, the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill enveloped us, reinforcing the bonds of friendship and solidarity that bind us together as a community. May the blessings bestowed upon us during this ceremony inspire hope, resilience, and collective prosperity for all in the Year of the Dragon.
