On the 24th February 2024, tens of thousands of locals and visitors visited the Cabramatta Lunar New Year Festival organised by our local Fairfield City Council. This marks the auspicious arrival of the Year of the Dragon with vibrant and colourful celebrations. I had the privilege of attending the opening ceremony with the attendance of many distinguished guests in my local area, including Leaders of local Communities, Clubs and Associations, Mayor, Councillors and more. The essence of Asian tradition and culture permeated the festival grounds, manifesting in captivating lion dancing performances, immersive workshops, exhilarating martial arts displays, and serene calligraphy stations. Children revelled in a myriad of engaging activities and games, while amusement rides added an extra layer of excitement. As day turned to night, the local restaurants bustled with diners savouring culinary delights, ensuring a feast for both the senses and the soul. The festivities reached a crescendo with a mesmerizing fireworks spectacle, illuminating the night sky in a dazzling array of colours.
