I had the great privilege of attending the Fundraising Gala Dinner hosted by Viet Tan Sydney on the 20th of October 2023. Viet Tan is an international political organisation run by the Vietnamese diaspora to advocate for democracy and human rights in Vietnam and other places around the world. The Viet Tan Sydney branch is well recognised as an active member of the Vietnamese community in my Cabramatta electorate. Their contributions to the local community over the past 30 years are commendable. The Gala Dinner raises funds to support prisoners of conscience and their families in Vietnam. I was thrilled to see many individuals and community groups of Vietnamese descent attend and work closely with Viet Tan Sydney for a good cause. I commend the organisation for hosting such a meaningful event and wish them continued success.
