On 17 November 2023, I had the privilege of joining many of my local communities in Cabramatta in a walk to raise public awareness of the impact of domestic and family violence on victims, particularly women and children. This annual community event also aims to remind victims and the wider community of various safe avenues where they can seek support, knowing that many victims of domestic violence often stay silent. The event highlighted the extraordinary collaboration among many community groups in my electorate, which I am proud to represent. I recognise and commend the principals, school captains and students of Cabramatta High School, Cabramatta Public School, Canley Vale Public School, Canley Vale High School, Lansvale Public School and the many other local schools for their wonderful contribution to this event. I also thank Fairfield City Police Area Command, Fairfield City Council, the local clubs and everyone involved in organising this meaningful event.
